Terrain details cant be set to very high?

Recommended Posts

I have this new pc(Q6600 @ 2.88Ghz stable atm, 8800GTX, 4 gig of ram), and everything can be set to very high, except for Terrain details, it can only be set to Normal or lower. I've heard of people having this kind of problem too, and they seem to have solved it by editing their armaconfigs, what i wanna know is the name of the variable that should be in the config.

Oh and i'm running vista 64-bit.

Locate yourname.ArmAProfile and find:

terrainGrid=x.xxxxxx;

change it to:

terrainGrid=3.125000;

for Very High Terrain Details.

I have a config like you in vista 64bit, but for me the game is unstable. Sometimes the game go back to desktop, sometimes tfe game too fast( really, too fast, the men are running, and moving like turboman smile_o.gif )

I start the game up with this: -nosplash -maxmem=512 , any higher than that and my gfx are messed up. I also can't get texture details to run at very high cause that makes every texture load slow. Texture details on high works fine though smile_o.gif

Thanks alot Oswald smile_o.gif

Terrain detail is related to view distance somehow, try turning down your view distance, then you should be able to turn up your terrain detail.
