Superspit 0 Posted February 20, 2002 This just started last night, after having many mouse freezing problems I finally went out and just bought a Microsoft mouse. So the mouse doesn't freeze now, and I have a stranger problem. So I'm playing a LAN game (this happens while hosting or joining a LAN game) and I join my brothers game, his computer is right beside me, less than 2 feet, and we play fine for about 2 minutes then I get the "No Message Received For 10 Seconds..." and then it gets to 30 and I get dropped from the game. I exit out, and I try to use internet explorer and no webpages come up and in the status bar it says "Detecting Proxy Settings..." and AIM, ICQ, etc. doesn't work. Help?? I didn;t think I could get disconnected from a college ethernet
rekrul 7 Posted February 20, 2002 Seems as tho the problem is your NIC. Try putting on a continous ping (ping -t xx.xx.xx.xx) to your brother and to a reliable Internet-server (like yahoo.com or something) and see what happends when you get 'No message recieved for 10 secs'. -Rekrul
