The Battle of Rahmadi

Recommended Posts

I created a single player mission called the Battle of Rahmadi that I would like to share with the ArmA community. The mission was created using many of the techniques mentioned in the forums and uses a SMEAC type format for the briefing.

The mission also uses Jonny's marines, and Mr. Murray's artillery scripting. Be sure that you download Jonny's marines before playing this mission. It is the ONLY required addon.

You can download Jonny's Marines here. Jonny's Marines

click here to download the mission

This mission is difficult. You will have artillery available, however the enemy does too. All details regarding the mission are in the mission briefing and the notes section.

If you plan your strategy carefully at the beginning of the mission, you should be able to achieve victory. The mission also includes custom sounds created by me. smile_o.gif

Please let me know how you like it. Feel free to improve it if you like.

To install the mission just drop the .pbo into your C:\Program Files\ArmA\Missions folder.

Good Luck! smile_o.gif

For those of you that have played the Battle of Rahmadi mission, I would like to hear your comments.

It will be interesting to hear how you accomplished the objectives.

Also, if you have ideas you want to add to the mission, or enhancements, or just want to see how it was made. Please feel free to unpbo the mission and customize it to your liking.

I would like to try it but I am too lazy to install an addon to be honest (especially if it is just a texture replacement).

wow great mission so far, i love huge pitched battles so really enjoying it... except the Kamovs are owning everyone at the moment. Not complaining, it's just very challenging (how it should be! )

Thanks for this thumbs-up.gif

For those of you that haven't downloaded or played the mission yet, I will post the briefing. smile_o.gif

SITUATION

Sahrani was invaded by a hostile force at 2100 last night. The only help available is a small detachment of marines deployed near the region. Enemy forces are estimated to be at company size. A team of marines inserted at the northern tip of the island at 0130 this morning, and destroyed the radar tower which links communications to the main island of Sahrani. This will ensure that reinforcements won't come anytime soon.

MISSION

Our orders are to capture the village of Rahmadi and the airfield to the west. This will provide a staging area for a full-scale assault on Sahrani. At 0430, 1st platoon, Bravo Company, 2nd Bn, 3rd Marines will deploy to the southeast of the island of Rahmadi.

EXECUTION

The insertion point is here. Due to limited resources, there will be no air-support available for this mission, however there is an artillery battery available on Isla de la Caja. 3rd squad and 2nd squad will seize Rahmadi. 1st squad will seize the airfield. Artillery ammo is limited, so choose your targets wisely!

ADMINISTRATION AND LOGISTICS

Attached to our platoon is an anti-tank squad with one M1A1 Abrams tank.

Support will be in the rear with HQ.

Medical is available in the rear. Each squad has a corpsman attached.

WARNING! Enemy artillery has been spotted here.

Enemy light armor has been spotted throughout the island and two attack helicopters have been spotted at the airfield.

COMMAND AND SIGNAL

Radio 0-0-1 for the platoon to move out.

Radio 0-0-2 for the anti-tank squad to move out.

Radio 0-0-3 for artillery HE.

Radio 0-0-4 for artillery smoke.

Radio 0-0-5 for artillery flares.

This will be a tough mission! We will be out numbered and out gunned! Good Luck and Godspeed!

[!-- [NOTES] --]

You are the platoon commander. There are ammo crates near HQ. Ensure that your men are properly equipped before the mission begins. Plan your moves very carefully! This will be an extremely tough mission, however it is possible for a successful outcome.

You will be in control of two marines and one corpsman. Team switching is available, so you can play any team member in any squad during this mission. The platoon is of typical size in the real world, with approximately 46 marines, and an attached anti-tank squad of 13 members, which brings total strength to 59 marines.

If you have eight men or less left, or if the platoon commander dies, the mission will end in failure.
