Husa 0 Posted June 24, 2007 Because there have been a few posts, but nothing groundbreaking I'd love if people with their onboard audio problems could post here. My problem is the annoying disappearance/disturbances of sound especially on big battles eg. the first big mission. No gunfire and sentences being cut in half. I've got the asus p5k with realtek hd-audio, but I've disabled the hd-audio function from bios and use the ac-97 codec. I'm going to try reverting to the hd-audio though I originally disabled it due to system restart while playing arma. (turned out to be GPU drivers) I've got newest drivers for openal, mobo, the onboard sound and GPU etc. If anyone knows a solution I'd like to know. I've got an audigy 2 on my old rig and I'm going to swap to that if I can't get this to work otherwise. ps. If anyone has got problems with the audigy 2 please spare, so that I don't have to do the swap for nothing
imustkill 0 Posted June 24, 2007 Can't speak for the onboard issue, but I used to use an Audigy 2 Value and it worked fine with ArmA. Should you need to install that sound card.
AsRock+SD 0 Posted June 25, 2007 Yes i think there should be improvments done for the AC 97 users as it's a well used onboard sound. I get the same issues and with the HD2900XT sound too.
