Jolting lots of hard drive access when moving...

Recommended Posts

Now this may be driver related but it's driving me mad! After about 10mins of game-play the hard drive starts loading what seems to be textures or something and it causes massive lag. If I zoom into an area it freezes then jolts when i look through the scope of my weapon.

Anyone else get this?

PC:

Intel E6600

ATI x1950 512MB PCIE

2GB RAM

Yeah mine does it all the time, it's not so laggy though as ArmA's on a Raid stripe. There's still issues with textures always changing and sometimes things on the map dissapearing (watch, compass etc) after awhile.

I have this in Vista but not in XP (dualboot). Very strange indeed, in Vista when zooming in there was hd-reading causing small pauses but in XP there are none..

Are you on Vista or XP?

My system is similar to yours:

E6600

8800GTS 640 (same problem with my previous X1950pro)

2GB RAM

X-fi

Asus P5B deluxe

Dont say you have a Samsung 205BW 20" as well cause then its spooky wow_o.gif .

Ontopic:

Well i dont have any problem with HDD loading in XP, but in Vista i have the HDD loading witch eventually will end with Arma crashing. This is on the same computer (dualboot) so it cant be chipset related (at least not for me).
