Kurtz! 0 Posted June 13, 2007 Hello all. First time poster but i have been playing Arma for a few months now, and i had played through the Operations Flashpoint campaign a few years ago. Can anyone tell me if you can create a multi player HOLD game with limited use of the Kits. Like Red Orchesta, where you can only have 1 sniper and 1 mg gunner on a team but can have a tonne of infantry men. I believe this can be done because you can choose your kit for Coop. If it is done, do you know of any servers running this style? I believe it would add alot more realism and atmosphere to my game play. I love the battlefield series, but i came to Arma expecting a bit more strategy and more realistic armour fighting. And what i dont like seeing is every tom dick and harry holding a Javelin. I mean, if i see or hear a tank coming, i dont run and cover, i just wait and blow it up. There is no fear of armour in this game cause everyone has a trump card. Thats what i didnt like with the Battlefield series (though i love it, much props to it). It was too symmetrical for me. Thanks for any positive comments. Gisen 0 Posted June 13, 2007 Short answer: yes. Long answer: Yes, but for some reason most servers seem to be playing the same mission in ARMA, as opposed to OFP which had many different missions.
celery 8 Posted June 13, 2007 It's possible (actually it's very simple) but certain mission makers prefer to do it the even easier way and give the player everything.
Rambo-16AAB 0 Posted June 13, 2007 A map maker can limit the number of each weapon available in the ammo boxes, which is one way of limiting the number of guys running arround with certain types of gear. another way would be for the map maker not to give any weapons in the boxes, just ammo, and if the map has a player respawn, then they respawn with the same gear they had when they chose that player slot at the start.
