KAOSInc 0 Posted June 2, 2007 Can anyone teach me how to alter the hat switch so I can fly the aircraft as a human being and not as a robot! Same thing in ArmA as was in OFP....the Up & Down head movement is fine in the cockpit, but I would like to apply the same movement to the Left & Right head movements/view instead of the snap to the Left or Right which we have again in ArmA. Pre-patch 1.85(in OFP) you could do this and I whinged like crazy back then when the patch turned us into robots but it fell upon deaf ears or someone just doesn't have the ability to do it(hell, I can't do it! )! hbien 0 Posted June 2, 2007 Not sure what your exact issue/setup is, but I've had no problems assigning the various hat movements to "Look left/right/up/down". I'm using a Thrustmaster Cougar HOTAS (USB connection) running ArmA v1.06 (works as well in 1.07betas), and I simply select the desired action, e.g. "Look left" and then move the hat in the desired direction. It should show up as an assigned button press. The thing I haven't figured out yet is which button to use to reset the view to center, e.g. when driving... Hope this helps. KAOSInc 0 Posted June 3, 2007 Okay, I have a Sidewinder Precision 2 Joystick. If I look on the vertical axis...my headstops whenever I let the hat switch go. On the horizontal axis...my head will only go to the extreme left or right and when I let go of the hat switch it will automatically go back to the centre. Nothing is binded to "Centre Look". opteryx 1562 Posted June 3, 2007 Why don't you just double click ALT button and use your mouse like I do? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJW5qqOts9s
KAOSInc 0 Posted June 3, 2007 That's the type of head movement we had Opteryx pre-V1.85 OFP patch and that's what I'm looking for again in ArmA but I would still prefer to use the hat switch (although I'll give the mouse a go in the meantime and try to figure out how to hold my joystick still since I have limited desk space). Edit: For some reason...it's working fine! I've noticed there are 3 "Look Left" & "Look Right"s' and I must have configured the wrong one!
