Quote[/b] ]Beta Initiative Battle: 26th May 2007

The fragile peace between the Kingdom of Sahrani forces and the communist Democratic Republic of Sahrani was shattered last Saturday morning. The two armies clashed in the town of Gulan in South Sahrani. The UN intervened immediately but became embroiled in a bitter struggle for survival as all sides converged on the town. The battle later spread to Somato and Vallejo and lasted for 3 gruelling hours.

The KS were left licking their wounds as the DRS pushed them back to their forward operating base in Somato. Gen.Sprags of the DRS was believed to say that he would continue his assault on Somato after a brief respite. He claimed he would ‘crush the capitalist pigs where they stood’. Meanwhile LtCol.robs456, commander of the KS, argued that this was a tactical retreat and that Sprags would take Somato ‘over his dead body’. Quite.

This week has seen DRS forces massing on the towns of Estrella, Gulan and the KS stronghold of Somato. Our sources say that battle will commence again on Saturday June 3rd at 6GMT/1EST.

The Beta campaign of the MYIS owned tournament International Conflict: Armed Assault kicked off last weekend. The initiative battle took place over the territories of Somato, Gulan and Vallajo. The Beta campaign will be fought over 11 territories over the next 7 weeks. This week the battle moves on to the territories of Estrella but returns to Somato and Gulan, as the DRS try to unlock the door to South Sahrani.

Our battles currently last 3 hours, beginning at 6GMT/1EST every saturday. To sign up simply visit our website: http://www.ic-arma.com/index.php

Quote[/b] ]Beta Battle One: 2nd June 2007

As predicted last week, the DRS launched a devastating attack on the KS held towns of Somato and Estrella from their FOB at Gulan. The attack began 10am local time and was sustained for three deadly hours. Once again the KS were outnumbered by the DRS and threatened at the outset to completely overrun the beleaguered Southern Sahrani forces.

The fighting was centred around the small town of Gulan which was occupied by the DRS at the onset of battle. Small skirmishes were also seen around the KS controlled Estrella, where the UN tried to intervene when the DRS launched an offensive. For the most part Somato remained quiet. However, in the dying moments of the battle before the ceasefire, the DRS mounted a daring air assault mission on the town. Bogged down with fighting from three sides the KS eventually succumbed to overwhelming firepower of the Communists. In response to Gen.Sprags surprise attack, LtCol.robs456 launched a successful counter offensive on Estrella which had earlier fallen to Communist forces. A hasty ceasefire order was drafted by the UN after three hours. Once the ceasefire was in effect all sides where able to take stock of the situation and count their dead and wounded. At battles end Estrella remained in KS hands while they had gained the small town of Gulan. Having lost Gulan to the KS, the DRS had taken the key town of Somato.

Reeling from the loss of Somato, LtCol.robs456 has ordered the opening of a new front on the Eastern side of Sahrani. From his firebase in Corazol he wishes to prise Geraldo and Ortego from communist hands. For one week at least, the blood stained soils of the Somato region will be at peace. Meanwhile, local people in the Corazol-Geraldo-Ortego triangle are bracing themselves for war for which until this point, seemed a long way away.

here is an update from Beta Battle week one. Below is an up-to-date map with the current territories held by each side

Quote[/b] ]Beta Battle Two: 9th June 2007

Battle raged around the Corazol-Ortego-Geraldo triangle this weekend with hostilities between the KS and DRS forces flaring up once more. After their unexpected victory last week, the KS forces led a daring double assault on the communist held towns of Ortego and Geraldo. Battle raged in Ortego with epic tank battles gripping the open sands. Having seized the initiative and cracking Ortego, it seemed like the KS were set for another resounding victory. However, skilled airborne units of the DRS repeatedly assaulted KS positions and eventually the succumbed to overwhelming numbers. This left KS units cut off at Geraldo while the DRS kept control of Ortego and gained control of Corazol.

Undermanned UN units had a difficult time calling a ceasefire due to problems of man power. For the 1st time in three weeks, the UN tried to act as an intermediary rather than battle for survival.

Reports have been heard that battle will return again to the blood stained hills of Gulan this week, in a bid to break through to their cut-off comrades at Somato using their firebase at Arcadia. Residents in the towns of Arcadia, Gulan and Estrella have been warned to evacuate the area if possible

Battle is expected to commence on Saturday June 16th at 6GMT/1EST.

The tranquility which had fallen on the Western half of South Sahrani was shattered today as the battle between the Communist DRS and the Monarchist KS broke out on the bloody battlefields of Gulan, Estrella and Arcadia. However, luckily with prior warning the UN forces were able to evacuate the region saving many innocent lives. Despite this, the evacuation was not 100% successful.

The DRS had managed to amass a huge army for its opening attack from Arcadia. Ground and air assault brigades were able to capture the KS held towns of Gulan and Estrella within the opening hours of the battle. The heavily outnumbered KS were bolstered with help from the UN as they battled to aid the evacuation of the last residents of the towns under occupation. Reports say that the UN fought gallantly alongside KS forces. Battle raged over the three towns for three full hours. Casualties on both sides where very high.

As the UN fought to broker a peace deal, the DRS were unwilling to cooperate, smelling the destruction of their Monarchist foes. However, the KS fought back and managed to regain Estrella in the closing stages of the battle. Sensing that the KS were massing once more, the DRS finally accepted the UN peace advances. Once the accord had been signed, Arcadia remained in DRS hands while they gained control of Gulan. The KS retained Estrella.

It is expected that the DRS will be massing for attack this Saturday again at 1EST/6GMT. Where the battleground will be remains a closely guarded secret. Where ever it is, the mother of all battles is expected.

Things are getting heated in this Beta campaign. Keep checking back for more news.

Beta Battle Four: 30th June 2007

Today on the Southern half of the Island of Sahrani the fiercest and most hotly contested battles of the war was fought. The DRS chose to defend two of their occupied towns, namely Dolores and Ortego while only opting to attack the KS held town of Geraldo. Both sides clashed in a bitter battle over Dolores at the onset of battle. The air was filled with the sound of choppers and the acrid smell of burning flesh and metal.

The towns in question changed hands a number of times as each army battled to keep control of the territory gained. At one point the DRS had removed the KS from all of the territories. However, in one of the most surprising turnarounds in the war so far, the KS managed to regain control of all three territories just before the ceasefire was called. It is rumoured that the KS had gained a vast amount of reinforcements from the draft implemented by the Queen. The DRS were left reeling though at loosing two home territories which are close to their Headquarters at Cayo.

The tide of the IC-ArmA Beta Campaign has turned as the KS went ahead of the DRS in terms of territories held. With the two weeks left to run on the Beta Campaign the Island of Sahrani holds its breath for what promises to be an explosive conclusion to this 7 week war.

With two weeks to run in this IC-ArmA Beta Campaign, things are really hotting up. The KS have come from behind in one week to now lead the War. However, as proven nothing is set in stone. The DRS can easily come back from this. To keep a closer eye on events please visit http://www.ic-arma.com
