Help with turning missions into a campain

Recommended Posts

Hi All

First of all I am new to these forums and new to the OFP / ARMA family. I used to make maps for the Delta Force games way back when, it must have been the turn of the century or something, have lost track of time to be honest. I still think the voxel grass was great for it's time, anyways I digress.....

I have been lurcking and learning for the past couple of months and getting into the ins and outs of arma editing, and I've been picking things up pretty well. Got the hang of triggers and varrious init discriptions and even got some pretty decent cut scenes (although they tend to stop working as well with improved AI, every patch I have to change the cutscene sqs banghead.gif )

One thing I have been at loss to find, dispite several forum and biki searches, is how to string a set of missions into a campain file. I seem to remember somewhere reading that it involves HTML coding, which is very bad news for me, I really struggle getting my head around HTML. That in mind, Chris's OFP editor was a real godsend for me to produce briefings, does anything similar exist for campain structures? Or do you know of any good tutorials that spell it out in plain English?

BTW, the campain I'm working on invloves the US / UK taking on the SLA from their rear guard, and it starts from an attack on Antigua and then going in from the north, while the south front struggles. I couldn't resist calling it operation backdoor

I'm being nationalistic here but I won't release untill we have some UK "Fatty" looking troops and UK equipement. UK webbing seems to make the troops look like they all have beer guts to me, maybe they do.

Will be grateful for any direction

First, take a look here:

Look under PBO Editing.

Unpack the arma campaign file with the pbo tool of your choice and see how it's done wink_o.gif.

If you want a simpler cleaner example, try looking at the royal security campaign here:

There are several sources of info around for campaigns as they apply to operation flash point. They're probably done at least in a similar fashion, but I don't know if it's actually the same.

This is a pretty good description on it.

Basicly the html file they talk about is like the overview in a normal mission.

Then you can have a stringtable in it for comen use.

the missions in a folder called missions

And then the glue called a description file.

Just read it sould be pretty clear.
