maddogx 13 Posted May 27, 2007 Yes it would be great. It would be great if we could smell the arma smell too.I don't see any ways to implement this in a non-clumsy way. (Ok, maybe +/-) And it would require loads of people to learn how to adjust guns etc. Even if it was difficult to learn, it wouldn't matter. For everyone who doesn't want or know how to adjust the sights, nothing would change. It would simply add an optional level of depth for the sniper fans among us. Â EDIT: No, it wouldn't REQUIRE anyone to learn anything.
Rambo-16AAB 0 Posted May 27, 2007 Well, without scope adjustment, engaging a person at 2000mt with the M107 is near impossible and the thickness of the hair is thicker than the person your looking at. Scope adjustment is required.
frederf 0 Posted May 28, 2007 Idle note of curiosity:Does anyone know if sight adjustment is a part of VBS1 or VBS2? For the military I imagine adjusting sights would be a big part of the product. it didn't show anything like this on the video nor the features page of VBS2 homepage i think there is a difference between basic training and VBS, anyway not something needed to go deeply Yeah, I don't think VBS is meant to train soldiers how to use weapons but how to operate as unit in combat situations. I understand that VBS is more of a shoot & move trainer than a Weaponeer replacement. If it was really easy to implement I figure that the military would welcome the feature not for the training on how to manipulate the sights but to reinforce and make-habit when to adjust your sights, not particularly how. Most likely this is some technical hurdle that BIS or BIA hasn't overcome due to the difficulty of the problem, lack of concentration in that area, or both. domox 0 Posted June 6, 2007 They just have not included it. There are numerous other titles with this feature, it is just a matter of making the behavior and a control interface to change that behavior. It really is crippling for anyone wishing to do anti-material/long range shooting. It also makes me wonder why they bothered putting it in if they were not going to do it right. Just some thoughts. Well the thing is, it's not just about going and putting in the adjustable scope functions and then releasing it in the next patch. If they did that, we'd immediately get five or six threads with people whining about how the scope adjustment is unrealistic and needs to be fixed... It takes some time and a lot of research to get it done properly, and my guess is they are too busy finishing up version 1.08 at the moment. With a bit of luck they will either do it themselves in the future, or they will just lay the foundation for modders.
