targeting in aircraft

in flashpoint you had your crosshairs to select targets when in aircraft. in ArmA, i can't figure out how to select a target other than pressing the tab key to scroll through targets which can be troublesome if im trying to target a shilka or other aa weapon before it starts shooting at me. is this a glitch or is it simply not available in this game?

couldnt agree more, despite all the bugs in Arma, im not worried, they will be squashed eventually, what worries me is the controls, i feel this has been my main drawback in Arma, i just cant feel confortable and use them properly, whatever the setup i try...bring back old OFP controls..in whatever measure possible...plz......or at least allow the player to choose whatever feels confortable, anyway, the secondary mouse button being mapped to several actions is preposterous

This is my biggest beef with the controls as well Red. The inability to select a target without scrolling through them is a step backward from OFP. I used this even more often in choppers (in ofp) then in the plane. Forget the flight controls, I just want to be able to pick MY target!

I think if you press number keys 1 through 5, it will bring up a menu of targets and their location in correspondence to you, then press the respective number, and you have selected a target.
