b1sh0p 0 Posted May 3, 2007 I'm having a hard time setting up AI defensive positions. It seems as though any time my defensive AI are set up within a few meters of a sandbag, regardless of if the sandbag is even in their cone of fire, they will not fire. I've set up a roadside checkpoint on the edge of a town. Sandbags on both sides, with 2 SLA soldiers on each side behind the sandbags. I can NEVER get them to fire on the incoming enemy. I've tried many different things. I've tried leaving the SLA soldier's AI completely unrestricted, nothing. I've tried disabling move to keep them behind the sandbags, nothing. I've tried disabling target, nothing. I've tried lowering the sandbags by half a meter so maybe they could see over them better, nothing. I've set their position to up, and to middle, nothing. Worst part is, the advancing US soldiers have absolutely no problem spotting and picking off these guys behind the sandbags. But the SLA won't fire back. I've watched them closely, and the SLA soldiers are tracking the enemy. They'll go from safe, to aware, and track the US soldier's movements with their guns, but they won't fire! I did a search for "sandbags", and didn't find anything related to this issue. Please let me know if you've ever gotten the AI to fire over the sandbags, cause for whatever reason, I can't. mr.peanut 1 Posted May 3, 2007 OFP had a 'feature' that if you setDamage 1 the sandbags then the AI will fire over them. Unfortunately this 'feature' has been fixed in ArmA. Check this thread at http://www.ofpec.com for a kludge.
