Looking for trigger examples

Recommended Posts

I have printed out the excellent wiki on mission editing and have been looking through it and have been reading the section on triggers.

but for the life of me its still a very confusing part of the mission making process for me.

what i want to do is create an ambush mission in which when the enemy troops travel over the trigger area that an attack chopper group will take flight and fly to the ambush area and attack the enemy troops. (i play the role of the OPFOR)

It would be also good to have a small group of enemy ambulance vehicles and repair vehicles begin to travel at that same time.

Its just really confusing for me - the interface seems a little cryptic to me.

are there any editable similar type missions out there that may let me check out the whole way these triggers and groups are created ?

or also i'm lookign for some extensive tutorials on the net about these triggers which some solid examples that may include the same kind of things i wish to do with my mission ?

So ure creating waypoints to this ambush place for everything ( troops, attackers and support)

Attacker group should have this op4s heli, and troops with in transport option.

In amush place place trigger with when present (chose side), once and connect(synchronise) it with other 2 waypoints(heli and support).

Do you need more detailed info, or created mission ?

Also unpbo this standard mission templates to learn from them (sp missions have also some useful data).

Heya,

All you need to do is synchronize the trigger(s) with the waypoint(s) you wish the group(s) to wait at. It's really easy once you get the hang of it. There are other methods of creating the same effect, but synchronizing is by far the easiest! Good luck smile_o.gif

yeah mate that would be really cool..

just make a real simple one if you can- a trigger area, an enemy car or troop that travels over the area, and another vehicle or tropp or whatever that starts to travel towards the trigger area when the enemy moves over it.

Hey personage, you can check out my tutorial here which features a BMP and squad in reserve that only advances when an enemy is detected. It also shows some other examples of synchronization. Hope that helps somewhat...

ok so ive created very short tutoial about synchro.

Here you can download mission

(in zip file) - extract it to your

c:\doc&settings\...\user\missions

and check in editor.

1st part - editor:

Part I Editor

2nd part - Video example how does this mission works.

Part II ingame mission example

On the beggining you can see 2 west teams 4 waypoints (connected 1st sf with 1st motorized, and 2nd SF with 2nd mot) - dark blue line.

On the other side one east officer under trigger (cond: east not present, on act: nothing). Trigger connected to 3rd mot waypoint get to the closest.

here you can read on BIKI:
