Lo_Ping 0 Posted February 12, 2002 There is this program running in the background, only when I run OFP, its name is: ~f51e43. While it is running my machine is brought to a crawl. If I end the application, my machine is back to normal, and game play does not seem to be affected without its presents. What is this? how do I get rid of it? OFP Version 1.42 System specs are: AMD Athlon XP 1600+ ASUS A7N266-E (Nforce) GF3 (reference 2311 drivers) Onboard Sound/Lan
murph 0 Posted February 12, 2002 I am wondering the same thing, could it have something to do with fade?
Rogue2020 0 Posted February 12, 2002 You say it's running in the background?...can't you just end task it?
Lo_Ping 0 Posted February 12, 2002 Yeah Rogue, I can just end the task, and that corrects my slow down issues. Also when I end the task, it don't have any disearnable negative affect on gameplay, either in single play, or multiplay.....I am wondering if this program is even assosiated with the game at all, or if it part of a windows system file/driver, or something. Is anyone else having this problem??
theavonlady 2 Posted February 12, 2002 These are most probably temporary files, created by OFP's SAFEDISK2 protection mechanism. While it's not directly applicable to your problem, you can search The FAQ for "tmp files" to read an item regarding these files.
nordin dk 0 Posted February 12, 2002 I also have this running in the background. Last time I end task'ed it, it seemed like the graphic settings in OFP went way down. This was while in Mission Editor, IIRC.
