I guess MODS include both addons and missions (using those addons).

But ELiTeD.net reviewd Kegety's Winter Kolgujev complete with artic units as a MOD

thats good then.... the story is, is that our campaign fell apart and i had loads of addons left from the campaign and i didn't want to see them going down the drain so i thought i would make a mod.... these currently only involve two units but im constantly having trouble on the ah-1 to get rid of a skin....

theres a little microphone looking thing ouside the chopper and when you view the paa file you see that the background is simply grey and when ever i try to impersonate the background with my new textures it appears in the damn game and i have this big grey block with a texture in the middle where it should be.... i have always had this problem unless the texture is a whole picture... i have paint shop pro 7 which is useless becuase whenever i view the exported tga files the stupid program makes the whole thing camoflauged like this.

here

i have only used the program a couple of times so i dont know how to stop this... and i also have coral draw 10,

but it should be like this...

here

I thinks it the pitot tube (not to sure), it measures the airspeed via pressure difference.

Have you tried depboing an existing cobra addon? see how someone else has done it.

sorry about the other stupid pic... its being GAY!

its supposed to be the same one but someone elses textures, being green and brown etc... but the stupid thing is, is that the first one was opened with paint shop 7 and the grey background was filled in with a stupid camo texture that never even existed... the other pic was attempted by me in coral draw 10 and thats what it should look like but the game doesnt like it... how do other people make theirs without this problem?

Whats with the Flags confused.gif

Anyway, I opened up an addon and looked at the pitot tube, the grey area around it is Alpha channel, meaning its the transperent bit, the camo part is the only part that shows. The reason you have a big block is because you most likely didn't use a picture format that supports alpha channels.

Do you remember the post you made in OPFlahpoint forums about the remodel gun. You can see that it's still being held funny, thats becasue some of the textures must have been made invisible with alpha channels.

You may need painshop pro to edit alpha channels properly.

oh my god!!!

i went back into paint shop pro 7 and i went to the help index and searched for alpha and a whole list came up...

now coral draw 10 is supposed to be one of the best picture formatted programs ever and they didn't have it in....

*paint shop*

i searched the index and looked for alpha and chose a texturing tutorial. It said that no other files than tiff and tga can hold an alpha channel... ow when i first heard this i was seriously gutted, due to the fact that nearly all along from the beginning i had been exporting them to jpg!

so it then told me to goto the selections menu and click on "load alpha channel" or something like that... so i selected my exported tga file and in the loaded menu then pic turned up white but the background was black so there was deffinately a difference...

after changing the texture i saved it to tga again and loaded up the paa viewer and also didn't bloody realise that all along it could open tga... i thought it only exported it... so i could of done it with coral aswell... so i loaded the tga file and it still came up with the dodgy camo background like i said it did before but when i saved it to paa it changed the background to grey...

intruder i dont think you know how much in dept i am after you gave that simple word.. "Alpha"

you have just sussed every problem i have ever ahd and ever will do... i am greatly in your dept..

Thankyou sooooooo much mate biggrin.gifbiggrin.gifbiggrin.gif
