i run arma on vista64 with a radeon card (7.2 cat).

make sure you have the latest directx build.

download dxwebsetup.exe from MS and run it: http://www.microsoft.com/downloa....Lang=en

run arma in xp sp2 compatibilty mode and as admin.

doing those three things got me up and running.

good luck

right click on the arma.exe file and look for properties in the popup menu (bottom). click on properties and look for the compatibility tab (should be on the top left) and click on that. look a little ways down the compatibility window and you will see "Run the program in compatibility mode for:". click on the little box beside that to "check" it and make sure it says "Windows XP (service pack 2)". click on the apply button on the lower right hand of that properties window.

then right click on the arma.exe file again and click on "Run as administrator".

you can do the same as above when you launch from the arma shortcut, but the compatibility tab would be on the right instead of the left of the properties window.

Dear Topic starter.

You have installed the game on a different operating system than the one stated in your game's system recommendations. Re-install the game on a WXP32 system and you will see how wonderful it works.

That's not too helpful, Desertfox.

I'm running Vista x64 and the game runs okay (I'm having problems with textures and model detail but that might be something else, especially as the game runs fine on minimum detail settings).

I didn't have to do any of the things ombas suggests.  I have UAC turned on and I'm not running the game in any compatibility more or as Administrator.

The symptoms sound to me like some kind of video driver problem.  Apart from un&re-installing everything I don't know what to suggest.

Dear Desertfox you can´t give it up?!?

My System is running on dualboot XP 32bit and Vista 32bit there is no Prob with Vista and Arma which you cant find on XP with ArmA except V-sync you can´t turn it off with Vista drivers so you need to do that ingame but the option is missing in ArmA.

Would you give him an answer that will help him when the problem would occur on XP or is it only to annoy Vistausers?

@mjall

Could you plz. post your Systemspecs. would help alot.

greets

Can you give some more info on your system? soundcard, cpu, memory, it might be helpful. Also is your Vista an upgrade or vanilla install?

@Desertfox:

Why are you trolling all Vista threads? You are not helping.
