Thats been hapening since well before 1.4, I got SBLive, and you get distortions when EAX or hardware is enabled.

I thought you meant there were new sound problems for 1.4...

Nope , the hissing and crackling when driving and flying are still around in 1.4 too I'm afraid sad.gif

But someone told me about the workaround for it: switch between 1st and 3rd person view and you'll be fine.

Merry Christmas everyone smile.gif

No. Not the driving hiss. I don't get that one.

The footsteps, and heavy breathing. Also noise when I'm running.

But I'm guessing by what ppl are saying here it's not fixed.

I'm running OFP 1.40 with a Crystal Soundfusion chip on my notebook. Under Windows Control Panel, I set HW acceleration and EAX both on.

Under OFP, EAX shows as DISABLED and it won't let me enable it.

Yes, I've got the footsteps and breathing bug. When I play the first mission of Red Hammer, I can hear the two wave coming in towards the fuel depot when they start out.

BIS, I've said it before, this is NOT ONLY a Sound Blaster/Creative problem.

Is this related to the annoying repeating message, eg..

Oh no 5 is down

Oh no 5 is down

Oh no 5 is down

Oh no 5 is down

Oh no 5 is down

Oh no 5 is down

Infinity....

No. Search The FAQ for "eax" to see what we're referring to.

Is that an IBM TP?

If it is tell me wich model and I can find some nice tweak-tools for the soundcard etc.

Yep, an IBM T20 700MHZ Thinkpad. Specifically, model 2647.

All I want to hear is that BIS is looking into this problem.

It must be super tough to isolate or else BIS would have fixed it already. Because BIS has been good about fixing things.
