Intruder 0 Posted December 23, 2001 Thats been hapening since well before 1.4, I got SBLive, and you get distortions when EAX or hardware is enabled. I thought you meant there were new sound problems for 1.4...

Guest Posted December 24, 2001 Nope , the hissing and crackling when driving and flying are still around in 1.4 too I'm afraid But someone told me about the workaround for it: switch between 1st and 3rd person view and you'll be fine. Merry Christmas everyone
amos m 0 Posted December 24, 2001 No. Not the driving hiss. I don't get that one. The footsteps, and heavy breathing. Also noise when I'm running. But I'm guessing by what ppl are saying here it's not fixed.
theavonlady 2 Posted December 24, 2001 I'm running OFP 1.40 with a Crystal Soundfusion chip on my notebook. Under Windows Control Panel, I set HW acceleration and EAX both on. Under OFP, EAX shows as DISABLED and it won't let me enable it. Yes, I've got the footsteps and breathing bug. When I play the first mission of Red Hammer, I can hear the two wave coming in towards the fuel depot when they start out. BIS, I've said it before, this is NOT ONLY a Sound Blaster/Creative problem. It must be super tough to isolate or else BIS would have fixed it already. Because BIS has been good about fixing things.
