Cpt_puro 0 Posted March 11, 2007 Sorry for my bad english, i'm french. Like everybody, i install 1.05 patch for arma. Now i have problem to launch the game. My dvdrom player recognize the dvd of the game after 10 try. It's a pioneer dvd - 108. i read on other forum that a lot of people have problem to read their disc with their player. worth of that, the dvd was marked. i think the lens of my player go up and touch the dvd. I notice the same thing with my medieval total war II Dvd. The game use securom too. all other disc were unmarked. I read that securom install his driver for dvd player and i think the last version of securom don't work with a few dvd player like the dvr-108 pioneer. what can i do? I download and install the last firmware from pioneer and i still have the same problem. en francais : Depuis le patch 1.05, j'ai des problemes pour lancer le disque arma.
W0lle 1052 Posted March 11, 2007 If it is really a problem with the new Securom version and your DVD ROM do this: Rightclick on your ArmA Icon on the Desktop or in your Startmenu. In the popup there is an option called "Launch Analysis". Run it and when done a logfile is created in the root of your C Drive, called "AnalysisLog.sr0". Send this file to Securom Support and hope the best. If they acknowledge that it's a problem with their <s>crap</s> software, they send you a download link to a new ArmA.exe for your Drive. RSV_Ecosse 0 Posted March 11, 2007 Is it giving you the grey box pop up error saying "Please insert the original disc instead of a backup"? Like this?:- It also happened to me today, after patching up to 1.05. After a bit of digging around, it would appear that along with the game fixes contained within the 1.05 patch, there has also been a Securom update included too, which is affecting some people. The only "fix" I found for it, was to go into your Device Manager as per the Securom website support suggestions and check if your disk transfer mode is set to DMA instead of PIO. Mine was already, as you would imagine, set to DMA. However, some users have reported that if you change the transfer mode to PIO, reboot the PC and then change it back to DMA and reboot once again, it seems to cure the problem. It seems to have done so for me anyway, although I'll find out once I've finished this post if its still ok. Hope that helps. It worked for me anyway.
