Concealed Weasel 1 Posted December 26, 2001 I installed Operation Flashpoint on a computer a laptop. It meets all the requirements for running the game, graphics card, everything. But during a game it will freeze. I thought it may have to do with the way i set up my video settings and changed it from 800x600x32 to 800x600x16. This was ineffective. How can I fix this problem? theavonlady 2 Posted December 26, 2001 Yes, please post detailed specs. Also, have you gone to your notebook manufacturer's support site and downloaded and installed the latest BIOS, video, sound, etc., driver updates for your notebook model?
RN Malboeuf 12 Posted December 26, 2001 !!!!!!!! Do not tell ppl to update thier BIOS this can toast thier MB if they don't know what they are doing, this is not the best thing to tell any one who askes general questions like this updating BIOS is not solution when it comes to gaming, it never has been if one feel they need to update the bios they should get help and not attemped it on thier own with limited knowlege I have seen countless ppl bring in thier Fried MBs from using the Flash improperly and its not covered under warenty

I just take it for granted, as someone who can handle these things. BTW, I'm sure most manufacturers cover this when you're upgrading BIOS from an officially supported version on their support site and you mess up.
RN Malboeuf 12 Posted December 26, 2001 no, most systems have a locked bios, this means that very little features are avaible, for i store i can oder MB this way (as a dealer) but don't since we upgrade the Bios at the store b4 the machine goes out We sell on upgrade ability, and never sold a machine with just 2 PCI cards or less, and every one has a AGP port as well when we test a burnt board and all the circuts test out we ask the costumer if the flashed the bios, we dont warrenty that, if we do it for then then we do, many just bring it in we actuall sent out a email news letter to all our costumers on new Bios for A7V boards so they can throw in a XP chip it's generated some sales too
