Los3rKiDD 0 Posted March 3, 2007 Ive installed Arma with no problems. I go to run the game and the check boxes complete their load...then it gives me the "ArmA has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."   I dont see why it would do that with no mods or anything, just the game out of the box...ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling, defragmenting and downloading new drivers and DirectX 9.0c   My processor is the only thing that might cause this game to lag, and the video card is the only one i believe would cause it not to work.  PC specs: AMD Athlon 2800+ 2.0 Ghz 1.12 Gb RAM Nvidia GeForce 6800
mr reality 0 Posted March 3, 2007 Since i installed patch 1.05 i've attempted to start ArmA 3 times. Each time i've had a blue screen stop error. After re-booting it starts fine. It's becoming more trouble than it's worth actually and i'm considering uninstalling and binning. I also have the latest drivers and my system specs are more than capable of handling this game. frozina 0 Posted March 3, 2007 Yeah I'm having this same problem "ArmA has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." This is what I am running: AMD 3400+ @2.7, ATI Radeon x800 - 256mb, 2 gigs of ram, x-Fi XtremeMusic sound card, all drivers up-to-date The copy of the game was downloaded from Sproket Full game patched to 1.05. Help Me, Obiwan Kenobi, you're my only HOPE!

desertfox 2 Posted March 4, 2007 @ Frozina - If I see that correctly, your mainboard comes with on-board gfx chip. Try disabling it in the BIOS. - You have an AC97 sound chip which caused my game to crash. Try this driver: AC97 Driver from Feb/2007
FrostyFlake 0 Posted March 4, 2007 I was having the same problem.. I had to turn off my video card AA and AF. then it started to work again... Make sure that those settings are down
Racingralph 0 Posted March 4, 2007 Got the same problem mate - installed and get the same microsoft message. According to my machine its a clash with the creative x-fi software. I can get the game to work but it means uninstalling the x-fi software with 3 way mode switcher etc. Bottom line is I think is pathetic and I want my money back. It's in the bin. frozina 0 Posted March 5, 2007 OK I updated the drivers and disabled the onboard graphics with no luck. Then I uninstalled the xfi software and viola it loaded but with no sound So there seems to be a conflict with xfi and the 1.05 patch.
FrostyFlake 0 Posted March 5, 2007 What OS are you useing.... XP or Vista> I had this game on XP adn some problems. 2 things to try. Go into your My Documents and delete your Arma.cfg and you profile... Also try updating oalinst.exe file.. Do a google search for oalinst and download there updater... Make sure your video card has AA and AF on Aplication controlled These are fixes that i have tried when having this problem under XP and Vista and have worked for me...Hope they work for you as this is a great game I also have a Xfi card and nvidia 7900 GTX and they work with no problems
Racingralph 0 Posted March 5, 2007 Hey I've finally got this to work on my system. 1. Remove and reinstall X-fi software afresh from retail CD. 2. Set to Game mode. 3. Log onto creative support and install the software autoupdater. 4. Let it search and find that an update is available. 5. Download 6. Install 7. Reboot It now works fine. I've tried unistalling the x-fi software and installing the update manually several times before but that didn't work for me but when the autoupdater did it itself it now works fine. Stupid I know but it works now. Didnt have to mess with the filtering settings etc. as they're all set to app. controlled on my machine.
