Balschoiw 0 Posted February 26, 2007 Replaying the campa and with new gfx it´s no problem to play this sidemission with some new gpu power. Was impossible before. Ok, my problem: How the hell are you supposed to win this mission ? The AI fires through trees as if they were not there, there is no real overview spot in the mission that would allow you to control a bigger sector than 2 square meters and if I´m not totally mistaken some enemies even spawn. I think so because I shot an enemy in front turned to the left and there was an enemy AI standing maybe 10 m´s next to me out of nowhere doing absolutely nothing. Has anyone beaten this one so far and if, what was your approach ? And why the heck does the sniper run around with his handgun ?!?
Ironsight 1 Posted February 26, 2007 Hehe that pretty much sums up my experience with that mission. Besides that I thought it was extremely unrealistic, 5 second after the mission starts you already get fired upon and then the camp gets overun by enemies. Just got back to the map and skipped the mission...

mikupoiss 0 Posted February 26, 2007 Haah! I had no problem with that mission... but one - only my machinegunner survived In total, I guess some 10 opfors were killed. The end was most dramatic... I was fired upon, aimed at the enemy and... cutscene! - mission completed. When it ended, I had already died, BUT the mission was finished

MrPing1000 0 Posted February 26, 2007 I thought this mission was easy and enjoyable. First off take a russian sniper rifle. Once the mission starts run up to the camp and snipe the 3 guys that come from the forest to the north east. Then kill the 2 that come from the east south east. Then position your men around the camp. I had the 2 machine gunners facing the forest and I put one on the stationary machine gun when it was built. I put the sniper to the east south east side and he killed pretty much everything that came that way. Once you hear the UAZ coming run into the sand bag bunker and spot it with your sniper rifle. Then have your AT soldier take it out, you can do it yourself if it stops. Then a few more men die I did it with one of the machine gun men dying.
Shadow NX 1 Posted February 27, 2007 Easiest method for me was to place my men around the base and order them to stay down. They engaged nearly everything on their own... however it indeed isnt the best mission more like soem example of a building script. Unfortunatly most of the missions rather seem like samples... andyx 0 Posted February 28, 2007 I've tried it a few times and so far have gotten my a** kicked ... I'll try some other tactics but I can barely see those SLAgs and they shoot like they have heat-goggles or something ... Somebody mentioned telling one of the men to mount that M2 after it gets built . I tried to mount it myself but it didn't seem to work ... but I never did try to tell one of my men to do it
n0bby 0 Posted February 28, 2007 I had no probs with this mission either. No real tactical approach (there wasn't really time)... I ordered all my men to stay prone, put one on the M2 once it appeared, and took cover in the bunker once it was built. All my guys except the M2 guy were killed, and only one engineer was left. I never heard or saw a UAZ... Like all the ArmA missions (and OpF), I think there's a fair chance that the scripting will screw up during any mission, and you'll either be lucky or find yourself having to start it again. I tend to see this as part of the game's charm...
