Skulleye 0 Posted February 5, 2002 I don't know, but try to autodetect the settings before you start the game. Maybe that will fix it.

In the meantime, make sure nothing else but Explorer and Systray (and any memory manager, if you're running one) are running when you play OFP. Moving up to 256MB will make a major difference. There are other things. Search The FAQ for words like "lag" "stutter" and "performance". OH NO! THE FAQ IS DOWN! (Server probs. Working on it!)
Boss! 0 Posted February 5, 2002 nope i couldnt find anything that fixed it. and i was curious to see my fps but FRAPS completey screwed it up while it was running, so anyone else have anything that might help?
Trekhaak 1 Posted February 5, 2002 If you run ofp and XP you need at least 256 mb. xp alone, almost takes up your 128 mb.
Mister Frag 0 Posted February 5, 2002 </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote (Boss! @ Feb. 05 2002,23:14)</td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">what?<span id='postcolor'> Bring up the Task Manager (Ctrl-Alt-Del) and click on the Performance tab, there you can see how much of your physical memory is in use. Most of your 128MB of RAM is gone before you even load OFP -- once the game loads, the system will be forced to constantly swap information to and from your hard disk. If you had thrashing issues under Windows 98, don't expect the problem to get any better with XP, its system requirements are higher than those for 98.
