suma 8 Posted February 22, 2007 I/O device error means there is most likely either an error in the disk surface, or some error in the disk device driver. Checking disk with the Windows disk checking tool and checking for updated drivers for your motherboard might help.
desertfox 2 Posted February 22, 2007 Quote[/b] ]Manual steps to run Chkdsk Notes • Chkdsk requires exclusive access to a volume when it runs. moblin 0 Posted February 22, 2007 thanks for the replys, i just fixed it and would have posted the solution earlier but got got addicted to playing editor i used this post to fix it: Quote[/b] ]i had a problem with the english version of the game. i was able to start it, but after a minute or so it would just crash to desktop, leaving the arma.exe as an active process, just like for some of you guys who are not able to start it at all. i installed all the latest drivers for everything, but it still would not work. i figured it was some kind of memory related issue. then i remember that i have set memory usage in windows to SYSTEM CACHE. after i changed it back to PROGRAMS it works just fine. not sure that this will help everyone, but it is worth a try. go to: my computer/properties/advanced/performance and make sure memory usage is set to programs. i'm using winxp sp2 btw. hope this helps. best of luck -arbiter link it dosent make sense, the problem was input output?? lol.
