Starting the Campaign trobule

Hello!

I have a problem when trying to start a new campaign game .

I go through the first 2 ..."missions" with no problem at all ( the news report and the "start" ) but when the "transport" mission starts ,I see a few buildings , then that text with "A convoy is going to Corazol" or something like this , then the screen goes black and It just stays like that .I can hear the sounds ,and If I press ESC I see what is going on in the game but as soon as I press ESC again It just goes back to black .

I've searched around the posts here a bit and couldn't find anything relating to this , except a mention by another user somewhere here but he never really got an answer .So ,what can I do ?

The editor and other missions work fine , so it's not my GFX card (6600GT) .I am running the game on 800X600 with most details set on High (I sacrificed the resolution for those cool effects:D ) .

And also:here's what I tried to do :

I tried re-installing.That did not help.

Also saved and re-loaded , the black screen was gone and I could see the buildings and things but still I could not move or anything...

Tried reverting /resuming , didn't solve anything...

I appear to be having the same problem, after the AAN cutscene the game moves onto the first mission. I manage to catch a glimpse of the Hummvee convoy starting then the screen fades to black and shows the message "A convoy is heading to a field base from Corazol".

From this point on the screen remains black with the same message displayed for atleast 5 minutes, eventually the next cutscene showing a road with a billboard next to it appears but apart from that nothing else happens.

This appears to be some sort of trigger problem, however this isnt exactly the best way to present a game. Im an avid OFP fan and normally I would forgive a game of its faults, however so far not even being able to start the first mission isnt a good start.

Any help would be appreciated !!

sorry, i can't help you. the campaign started just fine with me.

however, be warned that what you're experiencing is but a taste of what's to come, i'm afraid... you'll know what i mean if you take a look at some of the other threads.

I've had the same trouble with the cutscenes at the start of the campaign and I've got the same GPU (6600gt 128?). Every tweak I tried didn't make any difference until I changed the "AGP aperture" in the BIOS from 64 to 256Mb. Started the campaign again and this time when the news reporter showed up on screen textures were now visible, up to this she was like a 2D cartoon character. When the Corazol convoy text appears the screen goes black but after ~ 10 secs. we are ingame on the mission.

Thanks for the tip -i'll try it now .And yes,we do have the same GPU.

I've tried it and it works ! Thanks a lot , man !

And that little tip reduced the LOD problems quite a lot .They still happen but they are much less annoying . Thanks again!
