Rhodite 3 Posted January 23, 2007 Yes it is. But only with single player content this will really have any effect. but note in MP (and the demo is MP only) the whole thing is controlled by setTerrainGrid function instead (both view distance and terrain detail in the video options are ignored in MP)

whisper 0 Posted January 24, 2007 It's a script command so it is mission specific, not determined by server BI, couldn't we have a separate function for grass? I would be better to not be forced into "flat lands" to get rid of grass (even if I don't want to get rid of it myself, I find current demo implementation very playable, but some others might want to ...) mr reality 0 Posted January 24, 2007 both view distance and terrain detail in the video options are ignored in MP I have the demo and i'd like to know what settings the terrain and view distance are set to. My terrain looks fantastic so i'm assuming it's set at high.
max power 21 Posted January 24, 2007 Most likely normal. I think that if you start a client server it will take your native settings. I'm saying this because it sounds reasonable, not because I've tried it out. I wouldn't want to run it over the setting of normal in the first place! It would be impractical to do so, so I haven't tried it.
