Suggestion for Better Server Performance and AI

Just a note, Twisted had it correct. it isnt really the AI that causes the lag, it is the number of players. Actually players and time.

After about 20 hours of 40 or more connected, the server dsyncs itself into oblivion. The crates get all jacked because it cant count the number of weapons, it takes JIP players 10 minutes or more to connect, and eventually the server will dip down to below 4 Server FPS and crap out. TBH, AI doesnt do a whole lot int he large scheme of things. There are several tournaments out there with scripted missions on dedi server running pretty well.

Correct observation. You can quite easily simulate AI offloading - AI units are always simulated where their leader is. You can create a mission with 4 large teams, each of them with playable leader, and let 4 players join the server and lead the teams. All AI work will be now done on remote computers, not on the server, but I doubt you will see any performance increase.
