Problem connecting with demo

Recommended Posts

Can't connect to any servers. It says I connected and then the "Recieving Info" page stays up forever and nothing happens.

All my blockers are off and I even tried turning my firewall off. Any ideas?

Are you behind a router? If so check the appropriate ports are open or that you’re in the DMZ.

When you say you’ve turned off your firewall, does that mean completely closing it or disabling via the firewall’s taskbar icon? Some firewalls even when “disabled†still interfere with games and can cause connectivity issues.

No I tried all that... Did a simple reinstall after all that and it works fine. banghead.gif

I think what is happening is that when you join an existing game, thats been running for say an hour, the server is struggling to update the client as to where everything on the island is... there could be hundreds of dead bodies(another problem with the dead bodies not being removed from the maps), buildings demolished, burnt out vehicles e.t.c., that all need to be downloaded to the client, thats why i think you are sitting in front of a blank screen waiting forever for it to load crazy_o.gif
