JRMZ 0 Posted January 4, 2007 Hi guys, Just like a lot of you I am working on several coop missions. I have found a strange bug though and I can't figure out if it is really a bug or if it is me doing something wrong. I have built a coop on Sahrani island and when I play it with my team at some point several guys get the "doctor watson" error. Back to desktop crash with message that ArmA had to be closed, do you want to report it to Micro... This does not seem to happen when I delete the several triggers I have in the game. Which are OPFOR - Not present triggers. When activated a text is shown along with a standard ArmA sound or music track. Nothing really special about it. Am I doing something wrong with the triggers? Can it be that their is a bug with the sound .wavs? In general the sound seems a bit buggy ingame to me. What are your experiences and do you have a propper solution for me? Thanks! FireflyPL 0 Posted January 4, 2007 If you play on dedicated server there are some troubles with Triggers in server software. Try to play this missions on host instead of dedicated server.
Heatseeker 0 Posted January 4, 2007 Thats not a solution, these trigger types (OPFOR - not present) are vital for coop/SP missions. Please replicate the bug acuratelly with other settings (trigger type, on Activation, repeteadly or not) to pinpoint what really causes it and post here or at the Biki. I can live with a few bugs and anomalies but please not the editor .
JRMZ 0 Posted January 5, 2007 If you play on dedicated server there are some troubles with Triggers in server software. Try to play this missions on host instead of dedicated server. It's both on ded and host. I will try to reproduce, but it seems to happen sort of randomly. This weekend I will experiment with several triggers to see if that gives more valuable info. crashdome 3 Posted January 5, 2007 Try triggers without sound. Perhaps one of the references to sound file is misspelled or different as a result of an oops by BIS (would be a typo in the main config). If they work without sound, try making a list of all sounds you have chosen and try one by one to see if they cause a CTD. If triggers without sound still cause an issue, then we have a more serious problem.
JRMZ 0 Posted January 7, 2007 Oke we tested without the sounds and yes this seems to be the problem solver. Unfortunately two players still crashed during the coop. But we think that is because the ArmA boats are buggy. Also see this thread for more info: http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....3;st=
shark-attack 2 Posted January 7, 2007 man... the list goes on ... more bugs .. seems everything i want to include in mission has a bug when used in mp or on dedi servers ... lol ... the world is against me .. JRMZ.. you didnt happen to note which sounds were used ?
JRMZ 0 Posted January 7, 2007 JRMZ..you didnt happen to note which sounds were used ? I did not have the time to test every single one of them. And to be honest I have other more important things to do Besides that it is very hard to reproduce the CTD errors. For some reason one time you do get a CTD and another time you don't. As far as the sounds concerned I suspect the single animal sounds. Owl / wolf / sheep / cow ... whatever. But again I can not give you any proof of it.
