jimbojones 2 Posted December 13, 2006 I have a laptop with the above chipset, would be nice to use it for editor purposes. Looking at the specs, http://www.intel.com/products/chipsets/gma950/index.htm looks to be dx9 capable, but I am getting an error, 'Unable to read shader cache, missing or corrupt shdc files' Anyone know if there is a way around that or not? With the amount of trouble that is going on with supported PC's I am not expecting much out of this.... but would be cool.
desertfox 2 Posted December 13, 2006 The chip does support pixel shader 2.0 and full directx9.0 hardware accelleration. Hypothetically it should be able to run Armed Assault. On the other hand it's still an onboard GPU chip with close to no performance. Really not the optimal thing.
WhiskeyBullets 0 Posted December 13, 2006 i would be very surprised if it ran it at all. But you could try and report back to us for anybody else that is thinking it can.

Unfortunatly Intel Integrated Graphics + Anything that need Graphics card = . How much RAM do you have in the laptop? Might be a case that a RAM upgrade will allow the GMA900 to work better. WhiskeyBullets 0 Posted December 13, 2006 Adding more ram will not make the video card run better, most laptops with onboard video cards have shared ram which is used by the whole system.

jimbojones 2 Posted December 15, 2006 Just an update, tried patch 1.02 for German DL version, still no go...same error. Just thought i would try since it stated some shader optimizations were in place.

jimbojones 2 Posted December 16, 2006 Thanks, I downloaded it but have not had any luck. Do you know what setting could fix that? I tried alot of combinations with no luck. I will do some searching and see if there is anything else.
zirigui_BOOM 0 Posted December 29, 2006 i cant run the game in intel 950 too..
madmossy 0 Posted December 29, 2006 If I were you i'd stop trying, IF you do manage to get it working you'll be horribly mortified by the incredibly poor frame rates graphical detail. Your better off sticking it on a decent desktop machine with a geforce 7 series or ATi x1900 series graphics card to get the game playing like its meant to be played. Geforce 7 series or ATi x1900 series cards arent expensive you can pick up the NVidia 7900GS for around 130 quid or the ATi 1950 Pro for 130 quid, there are of course higher end models that range in price all the way upto 450 quid but thats for people with deep pockets. jimbojones 2 Posted December 29, 2006 Quote[/b] ]If I were you i'd stop trying, Well I was persistant and I have found a work around in my case. Â I returned my laptop for one that has a GeforceGo7400, and it fires up. Â Good enough to fix my cravings whil eon the road. Â Good luck to the rest of you. StenTheAwesome 0 Posted January 4, 2007 Has anyone found a fix for this yet that doesn't involve getting a new computer?
Jack-UK 0 Posted January 4, 2007 Nope, i dont think there is a 'fix' for it.. its simply that the hardware is not good enough to run the game... Sorry =(
