Transparent Textures in Photoshop 6

Recommended Posts

Dear All,

I know how to make transparent textures for scopes for Flashpoint and the like but how do I save alpha textures as part of the whole picture?

This isn't just aimed at OFP I'm doing other things with it too but thought Oxygen would be a good place to test it out. I can get scope type alpha textures ok but if I just take a transparent background and then spray paint across it at say 50% pressure I can only ever get the texture to show up as either completely black or with a white background.

I know I have to save them as 32-bit TGA's which I'm already doing.

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

**Edit**

Against the odds of my stupidity I have quite incredibly found the solution. It is in fact dead easy. I just make a new duplicate channel from any of the existing RGB channels. Invert it in the duplicate menu and hey presto it's there. Should work a treat on plane overlays of boring ground textures to give it some flowers and colour diversity yay smile_o.gif

Seriously though I'm sure there are proper forums for this kind of question.
