ArmA launch = PC reboot

Recommended Posts

Hi,

My German ArmA arrived today,...

German Morph SE version, so store bought version.

After a good time i found out my DVD firmwire wasn't up to date.

After update, installation worked without flows.

I was able to install the update 1.01 german.

Launch ArmA -> results in rebooting system.

ArmA 1.00 gives me the same result.

New install (1.00 and or 1.01), still same result.

My system info is:

Intel 3.06Ghz HT 800FSB

2Gb DDR 400 Kingston HyperX

ATI 9800Pro 128mb (->i know low, BUT ArmA box says min. 9500 with 128mb..so?).

120GB Seagate Sata HD

Abit IC7-G

Creative Audigy2

Benq DVDrom 16x

as most important hardware.

Updated everything i could think of and read:

DX9.0C (4.09.0000.0904)

Latest Intel 875 chipset drivers

Latest other mobo drivers

Latest Omega radeon drivers

(was all i think)

Run the OpenALwEAX of DVD box

But nothing helps sad_o.gif

It keeps rebooting my system after it hits the popup (loading) screen with the boxes. System crashes when it comes at the two last boxes.

I'm planning to buy complete new system, but since most of the hardware is still in pre-order, i need to do it with current hardware. It should be possible (at LOWLOWLOWLOW etc) confused_o.gif

Sorry for the new topic, but searched all topics including other sites (except the german morph support site).

Oeps, forgot to mention the OS.

Well running WindowsXP Pro (32bit) OEM licenced version with SP2

I also have .NET installed (in case that could be of any help).

Tried with and without firewalls (Kaspersky 6)...

A complete reboot of the system indicates a severe hardware conflict.

Did you download the chipset drivers for the Intel 875 chipset from the mainboard manufacturer site ? What version are they ?

Could you as well state which Radeon driver version you are running ? Cheers.

On a second thought .. the Omega drivers are medium to heavily modified drivers. Thay are not ATi reference drivers.

At this point I recommend to get the latest Catalyst reference driver from HERE and try starting ArmA with them.

Intel 875 chipset drivers:

->INF Update Utility [iNFINST_AUTOL.EXE] (685KB)

8.1.1.1010 11/21/2006

Downloaded from: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/scripts....t=Go%21

ATI 9800Pro drivers:

Originally i had the latest Catalyst drivers witch i had downloaded from that site (did that four days ago by the way). But those made the reboot aswell. So then i tried the Omega ones (already had updated other drivers before that).

Jahve told me to install the Omega drivers as it was reported issues with the 9800pro and ArmA. Placebo recommended it too.

Anyway, i have downloaded:

->23.1MB Radeon Omega Drivers 3.8.291 (Catalyst 6.9)

from one of the mirrors that were linked on

http://www.omegadrivers.net/ati/win2k_xp.php

Just searched in the Off. german support forum and did the securom analise run. I have mailed it to securom, hope they find something...

Anyway, already thanks for the help so far. Really appreciate it!

Just found a topic on the german support site mentioning more or less same problem. It was fixed by updating the Audigy 2 (well he had z2). After checking their site there is indeed a new updated driver:

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy, Audigy 2 series and Audigy 4 series Driver 02.09.0016 (39.37 MB) 9 Oct 06

About to install it here, lets hope it is the one...

Sooner or later it all comes down to some driver wink_o.gif

Just time consuming to narrow it in.
