Mora2 0 Posted December 10, 2006 Armed Assault together with mods and new addons will need a monster PC to run the game.Just look at Operationflashpoint and Resistance+ new addons. U need a much better computer to run all these stuff then recommended specs. So keep this in mind before finalizing your computers update. Not necessarily. Those OFP addons and mods that required more muscle had usually hires textures and models. ArmA has already hires textures and models so I doubt community addons and mods will run any worse than ArmA itself at the moment . The guy you quote has an excelent point. There will always be higher hi res textures and higher poli count models. Did you expect in 2003 to have some textures bigger than 1600x200 equivalent?? Well nowadays people are expecting 1920x1080 equivalent and high poli count in addons and mods.... So yeah.... Arma will suffer from the same thing. Plus i still have to test this game in a MP 32v32 or 50v50 i bet it will lag as hell In fact i bet there isnt a single spec that can move ARMA full at 1920 in a MP 32v32. evilnate 0 Posted December 10, 2006 Hell yes arma was worth the wait! Now we just have to wait a bit longer for the game to be patched up, and for the community to release excellent mods/missions/islands/units! Playing OFP after playing ARMA is like... sex with... or reading a book on... oh heck it will never be the same again!

Arma will suffer from the same thing. Actually 2048x2048 is the limit for textures at the moment. This is a hardware limitation by ATi, and doesnt look like it will be changing any time soon. ArmA ships with a lot of 2048x2048 textures as standard, so I can't see that texture resolution will be an issue. What WILL be an issue is the number of textures in use at once. With just ArmA you're talking 100's of textures, with ArmA and 2 dozen addons in a mission you're talking even more. Polycount will obviously take its toll, but thats to be expected...
