Ruckus 0 Posted December 4, 2006 Hi guys I've seen some posts that have mentioned that ArmA is having sound problems that suggest it is not operating in directx sound compatable mode. Â I hope I'm posting in the right area to help others out with this issue. I've been using Teamspeak while playing with others online and sometimes we were unable to hear each other because the Tanks and BMP's were so loud that you couldn't hear anyone on teamspeak. Â I would attempt to adjust the volume levels in the game and the volume of Teamspeak would also be lowered. Â This might suggest Directx compatable sound mode problems? However I do have a workaround and it may be a key to the programmers. Â If you adjust your Music volume up or down (depending on if you want to raise or lower ingame sounds) it also effects the volume level of the Tanks, Â Bmp's and other sounds in the game. This allowed us to use Teamspeak and be able to hear each other with no problems at all and it didn't change the volume of Teamspeak. Â I'm not sure if changing the music volume changes the ingame sounds as a matter of design or not, Â but this works. I havn't played with the single player mode with these settings, but in multiplay there isn't any music anyway, so it seems to temporarly fix the problem This was while playing coop and using the 1.01 version of German Downloaded Arma. sickboy 13 Posted December 4, 2006 Only ppl with onboard soundcards and drivers from the year 0, had such problems in our Community. Teamspeak on directsound mode in all cases with us work fine if the sound drivers are fully up2date. I can turn the volume of the game lower and my teamspeak stays high, this didn't work in OFP for me though! Disable hardware acceleration to get the sounds a tad lower... Get my choppersound fix for getting the choppers to a better level, ill check a tank/other vehicle patch soon, unless BIS patches it sooner Also... many Realtek ALC650/850/880 users use Nvidia Sound drivers, very nice but I've seen some trouble here and there and I recommend getting the latest drivers from RealTEK themselves and uninstalling the nvidia audio components. Hi Sick....I've had problems with this issue with both games. I don't have the onboard Audigy, It is a seperate card. The drivers are the most recent. In any event this seems to work for the other guys I was playing with and they didn't have Audigys. Funny that you dont' have the problem.

What version of the drivers are you using?
