Col. Faulkner 0 Posted December 2, 2006 In both Op. Flashpoint and Armed Assault the binoculars have a cross hair graticule that features a small black vertical mark at the left side. Does this mark serve any practical purpose? picture of binocular graticule
Maddmatt 1 Posted December 2, 2006 I never even noticed that, I have no clue if it's any use but maybe some kind of distance marker. Like if an average person looks that wide through the binocs then he is a certain distance away. Just a guess, maybe someone has a better idea. Maybe it's nothing. ThePredator 0 Posted December 2, 2006 Thought so, but it is a great distance. I thought about a length. Let's say a tank is that large @ x meters. I'd like to have a modern reticle. Like this Reticle 1 or the old 7x50 reticle: 7x50 I'd like to see a spotting scope for the spotter. Something you can use to ID targets over long range (ID the target cleary on 800 m, filling at least a quarter of the screen). And a rangefinder. reporting the actual distance to target. Both for armored vehicles, rotary wing aircraft and personal deployment (either special rangefinder/scope or binoculars with laser range finder and binocs with analog range finder).
