JackHorner 0 Posted December 1, 2006 Hey I was having this same problem. I set max mem to 1024 and after a while my game would crashing saying something like failed to load surface memory. I set the max mem to 900 and it works fine, I have 4 gigs of ram so you might have to set it lower. Here are the fixes that I found while messing with the game hope this helps. while in properties of the arma shourtcut goto the compatibility tab and change setting like so. disable visual themes, checked turn off advanced text services for this program, checked apply and hit ok. Last step. Go into your control panel and open up your system settings. Click on advanced and then on performance. Click on data execution prevention. Add the arma exe to the list. This will stop the cpu from monitoring what files interact with arma and give you more performance. Also if you want that last extra boost goto your arma install folder and select the folders properties. Go into advanced and turn off "indexing service" Hope this helps you out ___ EDIT: Also if you have ATI tray tools something I found that really helps is manually setting your gpu fan to 80% while you play the game. At first I ran a mission and the fps dropped as the card got hotter, so I turned up the fan and now in the same mission the game runs alot better as the fan at 80 reduced my temp by 15 degrees.
