heklos 0 Posted August 4, 2006 Feedback (thats honest ) There is nothing inherently wrong with your mission, everything works as it should there are just a few minor nitpicks. but first I will start with the happy stuff. Happy Stuff: I liked it. Its a simple mission. Nothing was broken everything worked as it should. Solid idea, solid implementation. It feels a bit 2002ish but thats because obviously as you stated its your first mission so i didnt really expect some fancy scripting. I liked the civilians and veheicles in the factory. Added a bit more ambience since, in your briefing the premise is that some of the civilians had tipped off your forces. I'm also very happy you used the BTR-80, I have seen it so rarely used in a mission. So im happy to see it take center stage on this one. I didnt play as the commander and just let the AI do the dirty work and joined in. This is merely an opinion, but I do like when mission makers include waypoints for the commander if they are left as AI. Sometimes i just dont feel like babysitting the AI the whole game Overall I enjoyed playing it. minor nitpicks: I know here in baghdad I can buy me a RPG launcher and all the ammo i can carry for a very low price, so wouldnt the militia forces have at least one The lone soldier didnt seem to fit or make sense. He just ended up being cannon fodder for the BTR's guns. More of an ambush would have worked better. ie MG's supported by AT units. The initial phase of operations, when the militia arrives. It was always a one sided fight since all your comrades were already in firing range. Perhaps change the direction of the militia's arrival? Suggestions for improvement: Place some civilians in the city, with a negative concequence to killing them. Add some civilian items to the city, vehicles and such. This adds enviroment to the area and gives you something to hide behind. Address if you wish what was in the above section. ---end--- So thanks for taking the time to create and release a mission. OFP can always use more mission makers. I normally dont write a psuedo-review but since it was your first mission and nobody had posted any feedback i figured I would. Good Job and keep at it. Later today i will run through it with the guys here that play OFP.
