ScrewYou 0 Posted January 23, 2002 The keyboard can not be used to control the rudder or elevator of the A10. I can't fly plane with keyboard. I like to fly with keyboard and look around with mouse. The problem lies in the fact that in controls the "joystick" actions cannot be assigned keyboard commands. In "controls" please allow keyboard events to be assigned to the dive and rudder actions. PLEASE FIX SOON! As plane is basically deathtrap! PoP open event.cpp or whatever and add da code!
Dr Jekyll 0 Posted January 23, 2002 Use the "ascend" and "decent" actions for choppers, they should work (works fine for me)
ScrewYou 0 Posted January 24, 2002 I agree choppers fly AWESOME with keyboard and using mouse to just look around. A10 IS UNFLYABLE WITH KEYBOARD. IT IS A EASY FIX. Simply allow the X and C keys to be rudder, E is throttle, A and D airilons and W and S elevator. Only problem is you CAN'T assign keyboard commands to rudder or elevator controls for planes??!?!?! (you will notice in the controls section of the game the last 4 commands can not be assigned to the keyboard only joystick) There is no special reason for this I can see. I mean an event manager is and event manager right? Maybe to many fatties and bags of jelly donuts eh guys! lol PLEASE FELLOW OFP DEBUGGERS BUG CODEMASTERS ABOUT THIS BUG, BUG BUG BUG (winner gets a jelly donut!) P.S. I heard that those codemaster guys are on vacation right now sailing around the South Pacific in a camo colored yacht full of girls waving a U.S.A. flag... is that true?. The handling of keyboard controls is therefore different then handling of joystick controls.
ScrewYou 0 Posted January 30, 2002 Dude that is NOT TRUE. All ya need to do is assign a variable to each control surface. Each variable is changed by the keyboard. Example(in simple terms not actual coding) int Elevator==0;(make variable that can store + and - numbers) If Key()==w; elevator++; (add 1 to elevator variable if w pushed) If Key()==s; elevator--; (minus 1 to elevator variableif s pushed ) The elevator variable now can easily be changed by keyboard to both positive and negitive values. I program in C++ and have done games. This kinda of keyboard input for control surfaces of planes is easily done. Every game has what is called and event manager. Every event can be easily assiged to any kind of input. If i have to go into more detail I WILL. BUG #
