christud 0 Posted May 8, 2006 It's an AMD 64 X2 GAZ and i have indeed tried it with the original FP. Same results really - it (the system) uses both cores although i know that it's not the game itself requesting this. Overall the performance is great but it's difficult to tell exactly whether the chip is entirely responsible because i also have an x1900xt and 2gb of ram in there. echo1 0 Posted May 14, 2006 i have an x2 4200 and when i alt tab out of ANY current game (Oblivion, GRAW, Battlefield 2 etc.) there is always a load on both cores. this generally follows a pattern of about 80% on core 1 and 40 - 50% on core 2. this appears to be the way the chip works in all situations whether the game specifically supports dual core or not but i'm no expert. anyone care to enlighten me? Could be that background tasks are using one of the cores? Not sure
