waffen-79 0 Posted March 16, 2006 Hi guys I did my homework but all I find is DED servers discussion I have a regular PC, runs OFP quite well and I also have a aDSL conn. I want to host a NON-DED server (I want to play too) and my other 3 buddies are not in my LAN. I'm talking here of simple CTF and Coop Missions nothing too laggy thing is: How do I setup my server? meaning that is displayed in the server list (sockets or dplay?) I conn to the internet via router, forwarding ports it's not a problem. Do I need a config file? Can you list the necessary Steps to do that? BTW I have no problems hosting non-dedicated servers for: LOMAC & IL2FB+AEP+PF (I just forward the correct ports and voilá) thx
Auss 208 Posted March 16, 2006 setup port forwarding then hit New and goto a MP game. send your mates the external IP and away u go. You wont need a config file unless u wanna call your server something, otherwise it will show up as your PC name when they join
Komissar 0 Posted March 17, 2006 Small note: if the dedi server is on your machine, you can still connect to it :P
waffen-79 0 Posted March 17, 2006 Thank you both Problem was that my server wasn't post on the servers list in multiplayer I realize it won't display cause I'm not using a ded-server and no config hence there was nothing reporting to gamespy the info of my server. I just forwarded the port 2302 on my router and the game still wasn't public BUT I gave my ip to my m8s and off we go. Thanks guys
