Help

I downloaded the WW2 troops addon from gamezone and I accidentaly told my computer to open the file with windows media player. My question is, what should I use to open and install it!? P.S I have to put these files on a flash drive and install them to my PC, will that require another method of opening and installing the file to OPF. and also are there any other WW2 addons and where would I get them?

To open the file rightclick on it and tell your pc "open with".

You will get an list of programms that ar installed, click on winrar, winzip or any other filepacker tool you have installed.

WW2 addons should be @ OFPinfo/ Gamezone.cz. Youst use the search function and you will find what you search.

Thanks a lot Mr.Tea

If anyone know's, do I need any patches to run WW2 addons or will it just integrate itself into the game somehow. Any info regarding this kind of thing I would find very useful, because I'm a noob at these things.

You need OFP:Resistance, best with patch 1.96. I use Game of the Year Edition (GOTY).

After patching the game select your preferred addons an missions.

d/l them to a separate folder at yout HDD. Sort them clearly by topics, authors or so. Unpack them with e.g. WinRar, which is for free as said above.

Now you can choose: either place all addons in the addons folder of the game which ist by default c://program files/codemasters/Operation Flashpoint/Res/addons

But a way better is to create modfolders. This give you more stability, clearness of the game and enable you to find occuring errors caused by addons.

I can offer you a tutorial only in german, if you prefer an english one, take a look to The Avon Lady's FAQ Page and search for "addon folder".

You will get every information you need.

Missions have to be placed in your missions folder in OFP subdirectory (default: c://program files/codemasters/Operation Flashpoint/missions)

You can make more missionfolders as subdirectories if you want.

But if you want to use addons in missions you have to implement them by mission editing. Otherwise you can open OFP mission editor and play a little bit around with them.

That's the basics.
