SCWC addon team

hello everyone.

i got some news from SCWC addon team (if you dont know we are another swedish addon team working closely to SFP but not part of SFP)

as some of you might have seen in the Combat Phot thread i posted a couple of pics from one of our "new" islands yesterday.

that is what we have started to specialise at (making islands) as we just dont have enough help with making addons (no scriptor, no config writer and no texturer).

but, now we have desided to make islands (scandinavian) instead.

and we are looking for 1-2 betatesters/missionmakers/campaign makers (preferably able to do all three things at the same time)

so please send a PM to me or Hornet if you are interested in making missions/campaigns and testing islands.

and to everyone else, if you have ideas of things we could add to our islands (could be the farm your grandmother lives on for example), send us a drawing (or if it is a object, send photos) and we will do our best to include it (but we will stick to a scandinavian feel)

with a "drawing" i mean like a scetch that shows the layout of the buildings and maybe forrest lines and similar (not maps as we must see each individual building, better then to draw some squares, a pice of road and similar in paint and mark what the stuff are, like "1 = main house, 2 = Barn, 3 = tool shed" or similar) smile_o.gif

if you want maybe i can post the pictures here.

i have loads of pictures of my grandmothers house in Keterminde (DK) or my aunt's farm in Bronderslev (DK)

will have to dust off the scanner though

i though i could just as well post the screens here too.

these are screens from the current version of Värmdö island.

this is in no way final and there will come changes.

comments, ideas, suggestions and applications from betatesters/mission makers are welcome (and you dont have to be scandinavian to help us, we will help with any questions, and we will consider ALL suggestions carefully.)

so please, we still need one or two betatesters/mission makers.

Well the last picture, I hope that shelter isnt at the end of the runway?  rofl.gif  Because the pilot would be seriously F.ed if he couldnt brake! And maybee you could also use other textures because with the white lines and all it doenst look real! Large piece of tarmac would be better i think...

but the idea is very good using normal roads in wartime as runway. Maybee you could make something like a overpass with 2 bridges next to eachother, and you could place aircraft underneath!  wow_o.gif

And a larger military bases that looks real with the use of RKSL runway textures for instance would be sweet to fly the scandinavian aircraft like the ones from SFP...

Dont get me wrong it does look very nice and the ideas are great! thumbs-up.gif

That pic is actually very close to reality. The "idea" of using normal roads as runway is as old as the swedish military airforce and shelters adjacent to the main highway was a very common sight during the cold war.

That pic is actually very close to reality. The "idea" of using normal roads as runway is as old as the swedish military airforce and shelters adjacent to the main highway was a very common sight during the cold war.

yeah, and dont worry, that is not a part of the actual runway, that is just a "parking" for the planes

the whole airbase is made with roadparts and not textures, besides, there isnt any tarmac textures in OFP:R (and i wont use any other at this stage, perhaps someone can make a new ground texture pack with a pice of tarmac on it?)

the actuall runway is a normal (though widened road) that is normaly used by ordinary traffic (but closed when planes are landing/taking off) and then the parkings and everything else is hidden nearby

but on this base i have made the desition to make the roads a "closed" system and not hooked up onto the other roadsystem, but that might (very likely) change becous im not really satisfied yet....

so dont worry manhunter, the hangar (s) are not on the runway, they are on the parkings wink_o.gif
