1.42 patch erased my campaign files.cant reinstall

Recommended Posts

I have been running 1.40 fine since it came out. I applied yesterdays update and it gave me an error saying my campaign file was corrupted and I needed to reinstall. I checked the folder and all of my EXE's were gone. I saved what I could and deleted everything, re booted and installed again. Tested 1.20 and everything worked fine. I downloaded the 1.30 patch and it too said now that I have a corrupted campaign file and either the patch is corrupted or I need to re-install again. Repeat this about 5 times last night and lets just say that I did not have a good nights sleep.

Athlon XP 1900

MSI Mobo

Windows XP Pro

512 Ram

Geforce 3

SB Live

I have tried D/L the patch from 2 different places and get the same results. I have a OF disc, Gold upgrade disc, a 33 mg 1.30 patch and a 6 meg 1.42 patch. Any help would be appreciated as i am at work with this burning feeling back in my head that I can't play my fave tonight. grrr

Hmm what about the 1.40 upgrade? You have Opf+gold upgrade which would take Opf to version 1.30, then you need 1.40 and then finally 1.42.

oK I also found several other articles that might help. BUT if you look at the page, the 1.42 file is now the SAME as the 1.40 file, there is not a seperate 1.40, then 1.42 avail to D/L.
