Bordoy 0 Posted June 9, 2005 I am thoroughly pissed off at myself now I had too many add-ons and it was getting pass the point I could manage them.So i thought i would re-install. So I uninstalled the game, made sure all folders had gone etc. Then i went through the proper procedure. Install CWC Restart PC Install Gold Upgrade Restart PC Install Ultimate Upgrade 4 Restart PC Install Resistance (Failed) It was right near the end of installing OFP Resistance when it just stopped and i heard a scratching noise from the CD Drive. I opened the CD drive and the CD looked fine, until i checked the underside of it. There is this crack all the way through and it goes through the disc to the top side aswell. If the crack was any longer, the CD would be in two parts. So, as you have guessed, I can no longer the best game out there which is why I'm pissed off. I am going into my city centre today to have a look and see if there is a copy of Resistance I can buy anywhere out there, and it should be quite cheap if one exists. Preferable, I would wanna get Resistance Expansion Pack and not GOTY but I'll get that if needs be. I am just wondering is there anywhere i could obtain a free* copy of Resistance due to cracked disc and it's not my fault. Messiah 2 Posted June 9, 2005 read your manual... most game companies will send you a new disc for a cheaper price seeing as you've already purchased the game, and so have the 'right' to play it... normally its around Å5 from most peeps... speak to placebo possibly, but most likely its something you need to talk to codies about - they should supply you a new disk as long as you can prove you purchased a legit copy.. Reading my resistance manual it doesnt really say anything, but codies has an office in Lemington Spa: 01926 814 132 probally your best bet? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Major Fubar 0 Posted June 9, 2005 Sorry to hear about your CD. You can try to contact Codemasters as advised above. Other than that, maybe try Ebay, or second hand game dealers. Unfortunately threads about missing/damaged CDs often (inadvertently) lead to crack or warez discussion, so I am closing this one (if anyone can help him out with info, please PM him).
