pogingwapo 0 Posted May 28, 2005 I have been trying to replace the default BIS units in PBO missions and campaigns with newer addons but I don't know what is the better utility to use. Is it the OFP Replacer or the PBO Patcher? The single most cumbersome task is to de-PBO and then compress the mission files all over and over again. Which tool provides the quickest way to edit the unit names?
-IT-Q- 0 Posted May 28, 2005 hello i think you misunderstood things a little. Ofp Patcher is for updating pbo's (ofp info news link). well missions are pbos too, yet this tool isnt meant for unit exchange stuff (only thing you can do, is to add a modified for example mission.sqm to an existing mission - which doesnt make much sense in most cases - in general you have to unpbo the whole mission anyway). for unit replacing you have four options as far as my knowledge is concerned: a) use unit replacement mods like y2k3, ffur, eecp. b) simple unit replace in the ofp editor c) search and replace over x missions at the same time with a good text editor d) Â Ofp Replacer (see link for more infos) c & d are the best ones imo i'd say, but need a certain level of knowledge about addons and classes. best regards ps: though i can be wrong, no guarantees
