MilitiaSniper 0 Posted May 22, 2005 Hey.., I'm working on a new Civil War mission. But I'm having problems getting soldiers to shoot and then keep advancing? Waypoints aren't seeming to work! I searched the forums already. I can't find anything that will help. Maybe I'm wording it wrong. Can someone help me on this. Sincerely, MilitiaSniper
MilitiaSniper 0 Posted May 23, 2005 Awww! Come on..! There's gotta be someone who can answer this question. Sincerely, MilitiaSniper
sim 0 Posted May 23, 2005 Erm I'm not sure whether this will help but there is a script over at ofpec, soz don't have the time right now to find it, but it lets the AI fire off a shot, then move to a random gamelogic and so on, it is for snipers but maybe you could edit it
MilitiaSniper 0 Posted May 23, 2005 I'll see if I can find it. And see if it will work. Thanks! Sincerely, MilitiaSniper
General Barron 0 Posted May 26, 2005 Hmm... what are you doing right now? What is the problem? I can't really help without knowing what you have done/what doesn't work.
MilitiaSniper 0 Posted May 27, 2005 I'm not doing anything right this minute. Cause I can't find anything that will help. But what I'm looking for. Is something that will allow A.I. to shoot then advance. Then shoot again. So on and so on! I wan't to use it for the next Civil War mission I want to make! dmakatra 1 Posted May 27, 2005 There's a group advance script on OFPEC. It's for modern warfare though. Half the units advance and the others cover. Then the second units advance while the first units cover.
General Barron 0 Posted May 27, 2005 Okay, why not try this. Put the following in each group leader's init field: {_x setunitpos "up"; _x disableAI "target"} foreach units group this Now, that will force everyone in the group to stand up, and it will disable the default OFP AI that makes units run out of formation during combat (to flank the enemy, look for cover, etc). Then, just place a "move" waypoint from pointA to pointB, with orders to "open fire" and be "aware". The units SHOULD (I think) move from A to B, staying in formation the whole time, shooting whenever they can. Only problem is, the whole group might not stop and shoot at the same time. If you want to do that, then you will need some more complex WPs/scripting, although it should be possible.
MilitiaSniper 0 Posted May 27, 2005 Sweet! Thanks man! Now here's a retarded question. It's been awhile since I made missions. So I forgot some stuff. But how do you assign a group again? I know.., I know.., Retarded huh? Sincerely, MilitiaSniper
General Barron 0 Posted May 28, 2005 Put this in the group leader's init field: groupname = group this
