Hello all,

thought I was a die hard flight simmer, well I was until I bought Operation flashpoint Gold edition. Now there are'nt enough hours in the day, done my fair share of yelling and screaming when I keep getting shot [as you do]. But this is one very fine game that requires you to think before you act and I love it.

Downloaded the 1.4 upgrade do I really need it? Had some problems trying to install it, the patch was unable to find my config file and some other error messages popped up but I did'nt make a note of them. The game runs very well on my rig get the occasional invalid page fault error and thats about it.

Thanks to all involved in the production of OPF, having alot of fun.

I know what you mean about there not being enough hours in a day, when I bought the game in July I spent almost the rest of my summer holiday playing it

Well I guess the 1.40 upgrade isn't absolutely necessary if 1.30 runs perfectly for you and you don't wish to play multiplayer, but if you can get it installed it's obviously better to do so

If you can post your exact problems we may be able to help, in the meantime have a look in the FAQ http://www.theavonlady.org/theofpfaq/ there are a couple of items about config files, here and here

1.40 is a must-have. Previous versions had a serious friendly-fire issue that has now been fixed. The AI has also been tweaked; during my last run through the campaigns I noticed a lot of improved behaviour, both friendly and enemy.
