MMFF 0 Posted April 15, 2005 I have a problem with OPF. When a Shilka, Vulcan, A-10, SU-25 or a mass of tanks/troops shot, all sounds "get lost". They come back after restart of OPF but it´s a "little" annoying on online games. Somebody told me to activate Hardware Accelleration on the OPF´s options menu... It won´t go on! On Windows settings i have full HW Accelleration on... What to do? MMFF
theavonlady 2 Posted April 15, 2005 What to do? You can first search The FAQ for "lost sound". But I would try going into you Sound and Audio settings in Windows Control Panel and reducing their the HARDWARE ACCELERATION setting to below maximum until the symptom disappears. I have mine set one notch below maximum for this reason. Also, if you have an SB LIve audio card, search The FAQ for "sb live". Worst card to have for OFP. Nothing but trouble. For all sound cards, make sure you have the latest drivers installed.
MMFF 0 Posted April 15, 2005 OK. I tried that... Now we have a problem... I tried all the 4 levels of H/W accel. at sounds and audio options and OPF won´t respond in any way... Where can I find my sound card´s type/model (whatever)?
MMFF 0 Posted April 20, 2005 Is anyone going to help me? Please! MMFF
Placebo 29 Posted April 20, 2005 Where can I find my sound card´s type/model (whatever)? Directx Diagnostics will tell you, click start/run type dxdiag and click ok then look in the sound tab and see what it says for device and then on the right for driver version. Simple way to show us would be to make a screenshot, press ALT+printscreen (captures only the active window now the whole desktop), paste into paint, save, upload to http://www.imageshack.ws/index.php and then post here

MMFF 0 Posted April 20, 2005 Well... I tested a bit... 1 Vulcan/Shilka does nothing... But with anything else.. bang... sounds gone. edit: also 1 A-10 does nothing... Still: SU-25 is un-useable
Placebo 29 Posted April 21, 2005 -nomap doesn't help here? I searched for a DS1x and didn't find much, maybe knowing the make and model of your motherboard would help? If you don't have the info to hand one way is to run an application which reports your hardware, one is "Fresh Diagnose".
theavonlady 2 Posted April 21, 2005 I searched for a DS1x and didn't find much Indeed very little. But maybe there's a link somewhere in here: http://www.info-fiere.com/info/whats/driver%20yamaha%20audio From the look of things, your best bet is to buy any inexpensive audio card that's DX9 compatible. Just don't buy a SoundBlaster Live card!
