Apollo 0 Posted February 23, 2005 I recently found this game ,and quickly became addicted to this fine Mp game ,wich can be downloaded for free! Allegiance is a strategic space game with close resemblances to Ofp Cti games in the sense that you have one comander building bases and researching technoligy etc. and other players basicly exploring space ,attacking enemy resources (base constructor's ,miners etc) and bases.A wide array of vehicle's can be researched for space combat going from basic sout and fighter ship's to capital ship's like space cruisers ,battleship's or carriers ,stats dependign on tech level. It's an Mp only game and takes some time to learn ,servers can host a very big amount of players in one game. (up to 200 as i believe) The reason i want to promote this is that despite it's quality it has a relative low mp player base ,but if more people would know it it would undoubtebly be played more.Given the strategic nature of the game i think it would be well appreciated by a great number of Ofp players ,especially the CTI fans. Billabong81 0 Posted February 23, 2005 I tried this a month or two ago. It is quite good for a game made in 2000/1999. I wish I could play more, but I don't have the time for it . bonko the sane 2 Posted February 25, 2005 wow, i installed this 2 days ago and i must say this is excellent stuff, yesterday i was playing with 44 people with 0 lag...amazing what good MP code can do...i had forgotten that existed. this game is a jewel, and as its abandonware the alleg comunity is improving it to overcome the 5 year old graphics and other stuff..i even joined cadet academy Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Yeah the MP code is ammazing ,first i thought they were joking when i saw the server limit of 200 players ,but then i playd a game with 80 players once and it didn't lag the leastest ,so i figure it can support well into the 100's atleast. Really neat to play with so much ,esppecially if both teams build a grand space fleet and then go into full battle with eachother ,we had a battle of about 10 capital ship's and about 60 fighters from different type's ,nothing as fun as tto boost with a wing of fighters right into the enemy pack and dogfight the enemy while youre zigzagging along it's capitals. Apollo 0 Posted February 25, 2005 you don't need the cadet's ,just an adaptive mind. ;) Ive been playing this game for not much longer than a week and already im killing vet's at a not to bad ratio ,im still kinda noob there but i can hold my ground.
