maximilien 0 Posted February 16, 2005 "ITS EVIDENT" you may say But a lot of teenagers think that what they see on a screen is the truth.... I know, this week-end i was with my girlfriend at Bastogne (not difficult i live in Belgium) with her grandfather who is an orphan from this battle. (Parents oblitared by SS cleansing) By his subjective testimony, myvision of the battle is a nonsense in comparaison with the movies representations and some games that i used to play with : this battle at the beginning of the nazi strike was an UBERDEBACLE.... That a look at the monument of the "Mardason" and count the number of blinded "epaves" There was more to this Easy Co paratrooper than the snapshot we get in Episode 3, "Carentan". Check out this link: http://currahee.hispeed.com/his2ndbnwwiiphoto24.html small proof that series must not be described as historical representations or reconstitutions. Only interpretations and fiction but not a real testimony of an epic history. Sorry for my bad english
gandalf the white 0 Posted February 16, 2005 I can do nothing else but agree with you, but on this forum I dont think there are allot of people believing that BoB is based on the truth .

Sorry for my bad english The thing is that until Band of Brothers was aired everyone thought blithe indeed died in 1948 it was only until the show was put out that this was corrected. Akira 0 Posted February 16, 2005 If you read the Ambrose book and then watch the mini-series, you will see indeed every episode is based on truth with actual events occuring. The dialogue and other "dramatic" events are indeed injected for narrative flow and dramatization. And technically anything with actors could not be called a documentary anyway
