Memory problems?

Recommended Posts

Hi all

I recently upgraded my motherboard and cpu thinking it would offer me improved gameplay.  I'm presently trying to replay the Resistance campaign and but am crashing out when I start the  mission.  I then get the following error message (2 different examples):

Here's my OFP settings:

Here's my computer's mem settings:

Can anyone spot a problem?

Thanks in advance!

Moving to Troubleshooting, there have been similar threads posted but IIRC no definitive solution, start by searching the TS forum for "out AND of AND reserved AND memory" choose "from the beginning " as period of search and read the results, see if anything you find helps.

I'm afraid none of the perfectly logical suggestions in the FAQ have helped so I have contacted BIS and hopefully I'll be hearing from them.

In the meantime, could someone please explain what's being said in this error message?  I've not got a clue:

Thanks

Curious> How my MB of addons are you start up OFP with?

Do you have -nomap specified on the shortcut used to start OFP?

Ouch - looks like just under 1.8 Gig in the RES addons folder alone. Could that be it?

The odd thing is that OFP 'is' working - if I run a single player game or even another campaign mission like FDF. It has just started giving me this error message at this point in the Resistance campaign. (I have ended the mission by bringing home a fair number of Russian tanks and weapons).

What does 'code change required' mean and how can one change this code???

Yes. Divide up your addons into mod folders, if you haven't already done so, and start up OFP with fewere addons.

If that still doesn't help, employ the -nomap switch on your OFP shortcut.

Hi Avon. I am currently using the nomap/nosplash work around - but I'll have a go at cleaning up the RES addons folder. I can only imagine this will break alot of existing missions, but has to be done.

I'm not too hopeful that this will fix the prob however as the previous missions were working before this one. Anyway, we'll see.

You were right Avon - reverting back to the original OFP addons and res/addons folders worked. I just don't understand why it would have worked for 4 missions and then stop on the 5th?

Anyway, you've probably seen this happen to dozens of users so apologies for the repeat performance.

Cheers!
